Forget Harry Potter…I prefer Grace Potter!

Sorry it’s been so long since the last post, but life gets in the way. Anyway, I know this weekend everyone was out seeing the final Harry Potter movie and though I’m a huge fan of the HP books, the movies really haven’t been that great to me. So while everyone else is up Harry’s butt I’d like you to direct your attention to a more deserving Potter. I’ve been meaning to write a post about Grace Potter for almost a year now and am just getting around to it. I think she’s a super cool chick with a great voice and her band is really funky. If you don’t know her, you should. Click here to hear her on Billboard’s Monday Mashup singing a Beyonce song. Click here to hear her sing her band’s most popular song “Paris”. Let me know what you think.

  1. Hey LAH, welcome back! The one thing I love about your blog the most is that it opens me up to whole new avenues in the music world. These were two enjoyable performances. I love all things Beyonce so I thought the Mashup was pretty cool. I do remember seeing them on Ellen’s show and thinking that Grace’s voice was pretty good. However viewing the Paris video, I paid more attention this time around. And, I must say I’m pretty impressed. Grace’s voice is strong but pleasing and the band definitely is absolutely funky. Thanks again for the music lesson and don’t stay away so long. BTW, Harry Potter and I will always be best buds.

  2. I still think they could've found a better Harry Potter. Daniel Radcliffe is kinda whack. I love finding good music wherever I can. It's like opening presents on Christmas day. I'll do my best to find more for you.

  3. I appreciate you taking on the responsility of broadening my musical horizons. As for Daniel Radcliffe, that was my main complaint about the movies from the very beginning. Fortunately, I read and (re-read) the books and the images implanted by J.K Rowling overshadow that lapse in casting.
